Labor's Folly

In the aftermath of the stinging defeat suffered by the Labor Party in Tuesday's Knesset elections, commentators have pinned the blame on three factors: Amram Mitzna's poor campaign management, Labor's prior participation in the Sharon National Unity Government, and public disappointment with the Peace Process. (In general, the "Peace Camp" took a beating at the polls, leading some to eulogize that movement during the past few days.) While the reasons noted above tend to contradict each other, they also miss the mark. The issue is the Peace Process and Labor's relation to it, but not in the manner that is claimed.

Child Terrorists

The media has been running a campaign recently to make sure the words "'X' Palestinians Were Killed by Israeli Troops" appear in virtually every headline. Only upon reading the article can one determine whether those killed were terrorists attempting an attack or bystanders caught in a crossfire. Child casualties are, by nature, emphasized.
